Wheelchair Race for Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex neurological condition characterised by its unpredictable nature, as symptoms can vary widely from person to person and may affect virtually any part of the body. This variability occurs because MS damages the protective myelin sheath surrounding nerves in the central nervous system, disrupting communication between the brain and the rest of the body.

Symptoms can range from mild, such as numbness or tingling in the limbs, to severe, including paralysis or loss of vision. They may also fluctuate over time, appearing suddenly, progressing gradually, or even temporarily subsiding before recurring. MS can impact physical functions like mobility and coordination, as well as cognitive processes, vision, and bladder or bowel control, making it a profoundly individualized and challenging condition to manage.
